Hello Fellow Wingers;
Spring Time came early this year huh? And it is very much welcomed too. The grass here on the farm is growing so fast that we can hear it grow! My cows are happy. Our alligators are out and reproducing already 'cause I have counted at least a half dozen and I know there are many more than that. The bugs are out and biting and the snakes are crawling at night. The beavers are hiding now, because of the alligators, and the beaver damns are showing the lack of attention.
Corky and I have picked up a little fishing boat and have been spending some time catching them Crappies. Thanks to Doyce Colvin and Frankie Ziglar, Corky and I are SWAMPED with fish. We aren't as adapt at catching them Crappies as those guys, but we have as much fun trying. We can not wait to get at them again.
Our Bike riding has been restricted to attending Chapter Gatherings and rides. But that will change come mid March when we attend the Florida Convention. Some of the Chapter G participants are going to the Florida Keys the same weekend as the Convention and they have invited us to join them afterwards. So we'll do just that. I can hardly wait.
This would be a good time to remind everyone about the Alabama Convention coming up 19 -21 April in Mobile, Alabama. Our Theme this year is Diamonds and Pearls in celebration of our States 30th Anniversary in being involved with GWRRA.
Also, it's almost time for Chapter G's annual Fun Day, April 14th in the Lowery Community Center on Hwy 52 between Kinston and Samson. Much, as always, has been planned for it so come and support a sister Chapter, K?
OK, gotta go. Hope to see each and every one of you very soon, K? Be safe while you get out on the roads, its Spring Time for the four wheelers too.

Hey fellow Wingers the riding season is just beginning. Are you ready to ride or are you like me in that you have only been riding occasionally in the past 4 or 5 months and it would be a great idea to practice some of your skills. Back in 1994 when I joined GWRRA, I took an ERC each year and picked out one item and practiced it the rest of that year until I felt very comfortable with the way it worked for me. I always took that ERC in the spring of each year to tune up my skills and kick off the riding season. Where am I going with this?
The Alabama District Rider Education is kicking off the riding season with multiple ways to help each and every one of you to tune up your skills this spring. First we are hosting an ARC, TRC and TTRC at the Alabama District Convention (Rally). The TTRC is being taught for the first time in Alabama and is a great way to learn some more about pulling a trailer on a trike. If you can't make the Convention, then we will have another ARC and TRC at Ft Rucker on Saturday May 5th. Sign up for both courses are on the District Website.
Chapter Directors if you have some folks that can't make either one of those events, then call us and we can put together a riding course or Parking Lot Practice in your area for your folks.
We are also offering two chances to update your Medic First Aid course at the District Convention.
Keep in mind taking either a riding course, PLP, or MFA class all helps to keep you up to date in the levels.
Don't forget we will be having a Team Challenge at the District Convention Friday afternoon, so practice up and get ready to have some fun.
If you have any questions, please contact either myself or Jim Robinson.
Thanks and regards,

"It's Hard to say Good-Bye"
We are down to the end of another year and the end of our service as your Alabama District Membership Enhancement Coordinators. We began with Bill & Dian Gulley in 2005 when they were District Directors and continued on with District Directors, Roy & Anita Fosnight. We want to say Thanks to them for giving us the opportunity to have had a wonderful time working with all the Chapters and Members in Alabama.
We want to THANK everyone for being so kind and understanding during our service. We send a special THANK YOU to all the Chapter Directors and the Chapter Membership Enhancement Officers. You have all been helpful in doing what we needed to do. Please continue being as helpful as you were with us to the new District Membership Enhancement Coordinators.
We are going to continue being active in our Chapter and we will continue attending Conventions and Fun Days. We are looking forward to seeing all of you.
Stay active in your Chapters, keep on Recruiting and remember Retention is just as important.

Lyn & I just spent a few days in Everglades City, and Key West FL. With our Alabama District Couple Bill & Trina Barden. We took an Airboat ride and drove up and down a dirt road that skirted a creek full of Alligators. After this adventure we traveled down a road with signs warning you to beware of the Panthers. Bill & I offered the girls an opportunity to take a hike through the swamp to see if they could spot one but being a couple of spoil sports they declined.
After Key West we traveled to the Florida Convention where we had a super time.
Dana & Jo Voight were selected as the Florida District Couple of The Year for 2012. Congratulations to Dana & Jo. This leaves South Carolina as the next and last District to select the final Couple who will be in the Region A Couple selection. So. Carolina's Convention follows Alabama's in April so make plans to go to Alabama's Convention and be there at So. Carolina for their selection.
Please go to the Region A Website to see the flier concerning the Couple of The Year Rendezvous in Donaldsonville Ga. May 12th. This is for all current Chapter Couples to come together for a good time and to have their questions answered about the program.
I hope all Chapters are trying to achieve a bronze, silver or gold level GWRRA chapter. If you participate in this CHOY program your Members can do nothing more satisfying and fun to achieve a special goal.
See you soon

What great riding weather we had this month. Trina and I started with a ride to Douglasville GA. GA-B2 with Chapter AL-Y for the Region A plaque grab. The trip was a win. The plaque was put up the following Saturday at AL- Y funday. Florida FL-1A was the winner.
Saturday March 17 on our way to the Florida Convention by way of Key West we stop by Tampa where had FL-1A had the Region A plaque up for grabs. Georgia Chapter GA-L was the winner.
Then it was off to Everglade City then Key West finely landing in Kissimmee on Thursday morning. Florida put on a great convention we had a great time seeing some old friends we had not seen a while. Trina and I took first place comedy at the talent show. She carried me again.
The month of April it's off to the Alabama convention in Mobile then on to the South Carolina convention in North Charleston. We hope everyone can join us there.
May the Sun always be at your back and God as your copilot
